The Laboratory for Genomics and Bioinformatics (LGB) has been established to provide support to the UGA community in the two areas indicated by its title. Wet-lab support includes medium-throughput DNA sequencing and stand-alone use of an ABI3730xl capillary sequencer/genotyper. Bioinformatics support falls into two categories: facilitated use of a pre-existing DNA-sequence database (MAGIC DB) and its custom data mining and visualization tools; and assistance with the development of novel database/data mining/visualization tools in support of new or on-going research programs.
